What IS actually Possible?
Would you like to find out?
Have you ever noticed how many conditions and limitations you put on your life?
Have you ever noticed how many conclusions you have every day about what is or isn’t possible, about that you can and can’t do?
I have! And guess what else I noticed? When I start to believe the limitations I’ve put on myself, on my life, on what is possible, I feel depressed.
I realized that again just today. I realized how I’ve been believing that what my heart desires, what I really want isn’t possible and that I’ll have to settle for something else.
I’ve believed this because with my logical, cognitive brain, I can’t see all the steps, can’t “figure out” how to achieve what I desire so I’ve concluded that it isn’t possible. The doubting mind has convinced me to give up before I even try.
And you know what else happened? When I stopped believing that, I started feeling excited about what’s possible, and what I might be able to create or generate for my life, even if I don’t yet know how!…
Of course, to the cognitive brain, the limitation makes perfect sense, because it can only arrange and sort the information it already has, it can only go on what it already knows.
Your cognitive mind does not do very well with as-yet, un-discovered resources, assistance, support or possibility.
Which IS exactly how the universe works!
Because when you go for what you want, when you take steps, take actions without knowing how it will work out…
All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way… (William Hutchison Murray)
But if you have already concluded that something is not possible, you will never set this process in motion, you won’t even try, or if you do, you will subconsciously sabotage yourself to prove that you were right. “See, I told you it wouldn’t work, that it’s not possible.”
So what dreams do you have, what visions that you have already concluded are not possible or can’t happen?
What have you decided is not possible before you even try?
The impossible is often the untried – Jim Goodwin
I don’t know how many times I tell someone something I have done and hear them say “Oh, I could never do that”. But how do you know? Have you ever tried?
You’ll be surprised, if you give yourself the chance, to discover where your actual capacities lie. If you have a fixed or pre-determined idea of what is possible or what you can or can’t do, you will continue to function from your own pre-concieved limits, boundaries, capabilities, never knowing whether or not they are actually true.
“Those who believe they can do something and those who believe they can’t are both right.” Henry Ford
It is in the stretching, in the going for what we have thought was out-of-reach that we discover more of what IS possible and often that we are a lot more capable than we have decided we are. When we say YES! to our heart’s desires, energy, enthusiasm, vision, without knowing the HOW, we are opening up to receiving and to the energy and vitality of life and stepping into expanding possibilities. Even if we “fail” (the first time) at achieving what we we’re going for, we have a lot more clarity about what it actually takes to get there.
So, what if you could give your self permission to go for your dream, your desires, for what you truly want?
What if you were willing to be curious about what truly is possible and what you are truly capable of?
What if you were willing to allow yourself to desire what you want with your full being and let that energy guide you?
[…] This is so crucial, don’t answer these questions from your LOGICAL brain and try to figure it out because that part of you can only be aware of what you already know and is […]
